Crazy autumn, Guild Wars 2 will be released on 28 August and one month later, the third expansion for World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria, the official release date being set to 25 September.
This is more than great news, some fans did expected that MoP to be released somewhere this winter. The price for the expansion is 35 euro for the standard digital version and 50 euro for the “Deluxe digital version” that will include an in-game mount, some Starcraft 2 avatars and some exclusive Diablo 3 banner sigils (most likely with a panda design).
The fans can already upgrade their World of Warcraft accounts from battle.net, (World of Warcraft section). Buying the digital version is the cheapest choice as the DVD version that you can get from a gaming store will have a higher price. Also, with the digital version, you can play the game when the servers will be restarted so the expansion to start on 25 September. More likely the servers will crash but that is another story.
Marketing strategy for this? If the players won’t find Guild Wars 2 to be a huge hit, they will most likely upgrade to Mists of Pandaria and will remain with it.
