One of the most awaited smartphone of the year, Samsung Galaxy 3, was unveiled in London, two days ago, being the top end smartphone from Samsung. Top end because it is using the latest Android operating system, Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich and has the most powerful hardware from all the Samsung devices.
Specs. The smartphone comes with a quad core processor called Samsung Exynos 4, 1.4 GHz, 1 gigabyte RAM memory and a Mali-400MP GPU.
For disk space, the phone comes in three versions, 16, 32 and 64 gigabytes, if we don’t count the extra disk space from MicroSD.
Dropbox is pre-installed on the device, offering 50 gigabytes of free space, free for two years.
Moving on, Samsung Galaxy S3 has two cameras, one on the front side, 1.9 megapixel, and the one from the back, 8 megapixel. Both cameras can record HD videos, the one from the front side at maximum 720p and the one from the back, 1080p.
The case is made of plastic, not an usual plastic, it is actually made of polycarbonate, something like HTC X One has, some sort of ceramic material.
The dimensions for S3, 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, is weighting 133 grams, Super AMOLED screen, 4.8” size, HD resolution, 720 x 1280 pixels.
Looking at the phone, Samsung is keeping the same old design line, we can see the three bottom buttons, almost the same shape as we see on their other phones. The home button is made of metal, always visible. The “back” and “more options” buttons are hidden when not active, can be used by touchscreen, very comfortable.
Samsung Galaxy S3 will come for start in two colors, dark blue and white (no black for now), the official release date in Europe was announced to be 29 May and 30 May for England.
The final price is 680 euro for the 16 gigabytes version.
