The first patch for Risen 2 was released a few hours ago, it is available for download on Steam (it will auto-update once you start the Steam client).
The patch is bringing a lot of good changes (this changelog contains story spoilers), one of the most important complain from the fans, trees and vegetation that are flickering once you approach them it is now fixed.
Other important changes. Most monster attacks can be blocked now, the player has the ability to dodge during combat.
Some technical issues that made the game to crash are now fixed. Improvements in monster combat AI, improved vegetation and terrain rendering, Mara’s health increased, Stealbeard’s hat can’t be sold anymore.
Mara and the last captain were very easy to down, Risen 2 feels pretty easy at those points and the final fight against Mara didn’t felt at all like a final boss fight.
Selling Stealbeard’s hat is another important issue since it is bound to a very important quest that can completed after you defeat Mara.
As we said, the patch was released a few hours ago, more precisely at 01:30 (two hours ago), it is available on Steam, Piranha Bytes made the release announce on Twitter, “#Risen2 patch on Steam just released! Adds dodge, blocking animal attacks, autosave slot limits, MEGATONS of fixes! Full list tomorrow AM.”
