The officials from Piranha Bytes have announced the final release date for their new RPG, Risen 2: Dark Waters.
The release date for PC is 27 April 2012 for Europe and three days earlier, on 24 April 2012 for US and Canada. The game will be released at the same time for all the gaming platforms, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
During the last months, Piranha Bytes have released several “making of” videos explaining different aspects of the game, the story, the environment, characters etc.
About the story. Our main character is living his life in a harbor town named Caldera, the world is attacked by different monsters, mostly sea monsters since the world consist now only from islands.
Probably the first missions will be about getting food since the world is on the edge of collapse, the food supplies are short. The main quest is unknown yet but will most likely be about saving the earth from the titans.
Piranha Bytes already revealed two of the important characters from Risen 2, Captain Steelbeard, also an important character from the first Risen and a small creature, a goblin named Jafaar. From the gameplay videos, it looks like Jafaar will act like a companion for our main character.
