HTC is losing money, 70% less profit compared to last year

Some bad news for the HTC fans, the company has made 70% less profit compared to the same period from the last year, first trimester.

HTC has sold devices worth of 2.3 billion dollars since the start of this year. Comparing the number to the Apple sells, Apple sold in Q2 2012 devices worth of 39.2 billion dollars.

Peter Chou, HTC CEO has declared that the negative profit is mostly because of Apple, and because of their latest iPhone, the iPhone 4S, released on 4th October 2011, the Smartphone gaining the supremacy in the United States.

It would have been interesting if Apple would have camed up with iPhone 5 instead of iPhone 4S, the brand new iPhone that would have been surely sold in a greater number than iPhone 4S.

Except the number of sold devices, another important financial result.
HTC profit for the first trimester is 152 million dollars while Apple has reported a profit of 11 billion dollars for Q2.

Apple Q2 sells. They have sold 35.1 million iPhones, 88% more compared to the same period of last year, 11.8 millions of iPads, 151% more, 7.7 million iPods, 15% more and finally, 4 million MACs, with around 7 more percents.
