Ad-Aware is a spyware removal software. It seems that is also running a background shield that may block certain websites. I had this issue with 4chan.org. Even after trying to disable the shield, the Lavasoft toolbar would not allow me to load the website in the browser.

Uninstalling this software can cause some confusions because if you search for “Lavasoft” or “ad aware” under Windows 7, you won’t get any “uninstall” shortcuts as results.

If the LAN IP for your computer is auto-assigned, you can add manual values to make sure that you don’t have an IP conflict.

Go “start”, search for “cmd” hit enter. Write “ipconfig/all”.

From there, you can see your auto-assigned IP, the subnet mask, default gateway etc.

The only thing that you need to do is to change your IP. You can put something like 192.168.1.19. The Subnet mask value can be seen from the cmd command. The same for the default gateway and the DNS values. Default gateway is the IP of your router, usually it is “192.168.1.1″.

If you are not sure if “192.168.1.19″ is a free IP, download an IP Scanner software that will list all the devices that are connected to your LAN.

For urgent actions, you can disable/enable your LAN connection from Network Connections. The Internet connection might work for a few minutes.

Other things that you can do is to scan your PC with an antivirus and also do a scan with an Anti-spyware software.
You can also disconnect the LAN connector from the router and move it to another port.

If they are broken on your local hard disk but they look fine on the website/server, download them by using Filezilla (FTP client), from “settings”, go to “file types” and select “binary” and uncheck the two options from the bottom.

Download the images on your PC. They should look like files with no extension. Open a file with Windows Photo Viewer. If the image is not broken, all you need to do is to add “.jpg” at its end. If you have more than an image, you can use this software called “Bulk Rename Utility“. The software can mass rename your files, more exactly, it can add a “.jpg” extension to all of your files.

Once you have the software, open it, check for the “11″ option named “extension”, select “fixed” and write “jpg”. Click ok and wait for the application to rename your images.

Re-upload the images on the server, they should not look broken anymore.

Your web host should have a folder that can be accessed by FTP: “tmp/mysql_slow_queries”. Check the latest .txt files.

I’ve found out that some of my WordPress blogs were heavily spammed by bots. These bots were inserting comments.

After I have disabled the comments, the CPU Throttling was reduced considerably. In some extreme cases, you should install an anti-spam plugin for comments (besides Akismet) if disabling the comments feature is not an option.

You can delete all the spam comments within a click by using the plugin named “WP-Optimize”.

Login into your CPanel, click on “Default address”. You will be redirected to a page that will display this message: “The Default E-Mail/Catch-All feature has been disabled by default due to Spam and Security concerns.
Please contact support if you need assistance with creating mail forwards (aliases) as an alternative.”

So, you need to contact your web host so they will enable the “catchall” function.

Once the function was enabled, return to the same page “Default address” and tweaks the settings. You can even disable the function from the same page.

However, you can set the “numpad -” and “numpad +” to act as volume controllers.

Start by downloading and installing this software: “autoHotkey” from autohotkey.com. It is free.

Open autoHotkey, click on “File” and then on “Edit script”.

Add these codes:

+F5:: Send {vkB3sc122}
+F2:: Send {Volume_Up 1}
+F4:: Send {Volume_Down 1}
+F8:: Send {Media_Next}
+F7:: Send {Media_Prev}

Save the page. Right click on the autoHotkey icon from systray and click on “Reload this script”.

Start Razer Synapse 2.0, go to the Razer Blackwidow tab.

Select the “numpad -” button and assign “keyboard function”. Now is the tricky part. To be able to assign Shift+F4 there, you need to spam “Shift+F4″ (press together) a few times until the key combo will appear inside there.

Repeat the same process for “Shift+F2″ for the “numpad +” button.

Test your new controllers. You can press the buttons just once so the volume will go up/down for an unit or press them continuously to increase/decrease the volume a lot.

Last thing, autoHotkey doesn’t auto-start with Windows. You need to add its executable at auto-start.

HP has a software program that allows you to install all the drivers for this laptop within a few clicks.

The only thing you need first is to install the wireless LAN driver or you won’t have Internet access. The wireless driver is called “aero” or something.

If your Internet connection is working, go to this page. This is a Firefox addon that will detect the model of your laptop and will take you to the right place.

Once the device was detected, click on the resulted link, “Download drivers and software”, select your OS, scroll to the last options from that page, “HP Support Assistant”. Install that software. It will help you to download and install all the drivers within a few clicks.

I would recommend to install only the “critical” drivers if you are in a hurry or you will have to wait even 2-3 hours so the drivers to download and install.

To reset the password, you will need to answer a secret question. Either your birthplace or you can write three names of your Second Life friends.

If you don’t know the answer for these questions, start a support ticket from their website. They will ask you to send them some scans or pictures with your identity card or driving licence or any legal document.

They will reset your password if everything is fine with your documents. Be as polite as you can.
